Hi,
the picture of Robert Schumann is painted by me. You could use it but I think its fair to set a link to my homepage (martin-missfeldt.com) under the picture.
Thanks, Martin

Musical Hallucinations are NOT psychotic or pathological. Most musicians hear music in their heads.

@ Chris R:
I have one of those electronic dream machines myself, bought it for about $150 a few years ago, they do seem to make dreams lucid and cause vivid hallucinations when you're starting to enter a sleep state, but if you use the one I have alot, it causes disturbing dreams after a few days. I don't use it anymore.

There's tons of people not mentioned on here.
I recommend the book Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks, he's a neurologist who talks about all types of brain disorders leading to hallucinations in musicians.

The most important and most influential people I can think of not on this list are:

Ludwig van Beethoven, later in his life he had ringing in his ears before going def, during which time sounds would induce hallucinations that he would use in composing concertos and symphonies.

I always like to mention Steve Jobs, who was just another video game programmer at Atari before going to India, experiencing mescaline and LSD trips and converting to Buddhism.

I always thought Salvador Dali's paintings must have been influenced by drugs or psychosis and was very surprised to find out he was actually pretty normal, just astonishingly creative without mind altering stimulants.
